Dear clients, partners, and friends of Nordic BioCosmetic,
Even in an exceptional year, good things happen in manufacturing. I am pleased to announce the commissioning of our new fully automated oil filling line — a significant investment that directly expands what we can offer every client working with oil-based formulations.
The new line: what it does
The automated filling system handles liquid oil formulations across the full range of cosmetic bottle and dropper formats, from 10 ml up to 200 ml. The line integrates filling, capping, and labelling in a single automated sequence, with high-precision dosing to minimise product waste and ensure exceptional fill accuracy across every batch.
The system is designed specifically for the viscosity profile of cosmetic oils — from very light, fast-flowing essential oil blends to thicker, more viscous carrier oil formulations. Previous filling methods required manual adjustment and slowed production for certain oil types. The new line handles the full spectrum without interruption.
Essential oils: a particular strength
I want to highlight the significance of this line for essential oil products specifically.
Essential oils are among the most technically demanding products in cosmetic filling. Their volatility means every second of unnecessary exposure to air and heat represents lost fragrance and lost efficacy. Their value — whether we are talking about Bulgarian rose absolute, French lavender, or Finnish forest spruce — means fill accuracy is not just a quality metric, it is a direct cost factor.
The new automated line addresses both challenges. Closed filling in a controlled environment minimises volatility loss. Precision dosing at the gram level ensures that a 30 ml bottle of rose face oil contains exactly 30 ml of rose face oil — batch after batch, without variance.
For clients developing:
- Pure essential oil products — single-origin or blended
- Face oils and serums in dropper bottle formats
- Aromatherapy blends and wellness oils
- Luxury body oils in larger 100–200 ml formats
- Scalp and hair oils across multiple size variants
For these clients, the new line is a meaningful upgrade in both quality and production efficiency.
Capacity and minimum orders
The new line significantly increases our throughput for oil products. We can now accommodate larger production runs while maintaining the small-batch flexibility that characterises our approach. Pilot batches remain available for new product development, and scale-up runs are now faster and more cost-efficient than before.
A note on timing
We commissioned this line in a year that has tested everyone. I want to acknowledge that directly. While 2020 has brought significant challenges across every industry, we took the view that investment in our production capabilities was the right response. Our clients are building long-term brands. Our obligation is to provide long-term manufacturing capability.
The new line is running. Our team is trained on it. We are ready.
